Sandy Oak Lee, MD

Dr. Sandy Oak Lee, MD, FAAP, is excited to embark on a new journey with Sunshine Pediatrics. 


Dr. Lee is a board-certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. After being raised in Irvine, she graduated cum laude from Cornell University, received her medical degree from New York Medical College, and completed her residency training at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. 


With over 20 years of dedicated pediatric experience in Irvine and Orange County, Dr. Lee has established herself as a trusted health care provider, receiving the Orange County Physician of Excellence Award in both 2014 and 2015. 


Dr. Lee has also volunteered and led numerous medical trips to underserved communities around the world, including Mexico, Guatemala, Haiti, China, Malawi, and Nigeria. From her experiences, Dr. Lee helped create two children's books: Mommy Goes to Haiti,  which supports and tells the story of her relief efforts in Haiti, and It Started with an Orange, which highlights the importance and privilege of education. 


Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Lee serves on the board of two non-profit organizations dedicated to providing educational opportunities and mentorship for foster youth, refugee children, and international students.  


Dr. Lee is married, has two adult children, and a border collie named Kip. She also had the unforgettable privilege of being a foster mom for nearly two years. When not working, Dr. Lee enjoys running with her dog, cooking and playing the occasional round of golf with her husband!
