Jiyeon Kim, MD
Dr. Jiyeon Kim, M.D. FAAP, is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Kim received her medical degree from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. She graduated from her residency in pediatrics at the University of Illinois, College of Medicine at Peoria in 2010, and completed an additional year as chief resident of pediatrics.
Dr. Kim moved to Orange County in 2016 and has since been practicing as a general pediatrician. Prior to relocating to Southern California, she served as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, where she provided general pediatric care and played an active role in resident education as the Associate Program Director of the pediatric residency program. During this time, she was involved in numerous community advocacy initiatives and scholarly activities, mentoring pediatric residents in research. She also previously practiced as a general pediatrician in Fairfax, Virginia. Dr. Kim has been honored with multiple Teaching Awards and has received recognition as a Clinician of Excellence.
With nearly two decades of experience, Dr. Kim considers it a true privilege to care for children and support families through every stage of their child’s growth. She values continuity of care, meaningful relationships, and a personalized, family-centered approach. Having lived in multiple countries growing up, she brings a strong appreciation for cultural diversity and strives to honor each family’s background and values. Dr. Kim is fluent in English and Korean.
Outside of medicine, she is learning Japanese, enjoys exploring new foods, practicing Pilates, spending time with her husband and son, and running (or slow jogging!) 5K races together as a family.
