Our Pediatricians

Dr. Christine Kornu, M.D., FAAP is a board-certified pediatrician with over 20 years of experience caring for infants, children, and teens. After practicing in Orange County since 2008, she is excited to begin her new pediatrics practice in Irvine.

Dr. Kornu grew up in San Diego and graduated valedictorian from La Jolla High School. She earned her B.S. in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She returned to California for her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Before settling in Orange County, Dr. Kornu practiced in Dallas and San Diego, gaining experience in both academic and community settings. In Dallas, she served as clinical faculty at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. In San Diego, she was a lead physician at a community clinic, participating in leadership, quality improvement, and pharmaceutical committees, and coordinating the Reach Out and Read early literacy program.

Since 2008, Dr. Kornu has loved caring for families in Orange County—supporting children through every stage of growth and building long-term relationships with parents and patients. She is known for her warm, patient, and thoughtful approach to care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kornu stays busy with her three children and their activities. She has served in leadership roles with Girl Scouts and National Charity League and has participated in medical mission work in Thailand, Nepal, and Mexico.

Dr. Kornu is delighted to continue her journey at Sunshine Pediatrics OC, where she looks forward to providing compassionate, personalized care to families in the community.
